The effort of a crazily-determined and talented enthusiast, Loose Ends sees the Master apparently living in a suburban house in Dagenham, and can't get anyone to take any notice of his grand schemes for taking over the planet. The Doctor has to explain to him exactly why no one is taking him seriously. A lot of the joys of this involve rather ordinary or jarringly-British things - the Master ordering a Chinese takeway, for example - which make you wish this story really had been broadcast back in the day. I really want to see the Master failing to make himself beans on toast because his gas has been cut off...
